Minor Office Procedures

Skin biopsies, lesion removal, cryotherapy, ingrown toenail treatment, and earwax removal — handled right here, often the same day you bring it up — serving Northville, Plymouth, Canton, and Livonia.

A surprising number of common, simple problems get routed to a specialist out of habit, even when they don't need to be. National data shows the average wait for a new dermatology appointment is over a month, and considerably longer in many markets. At TheMDClinic in Northville, MI, we handle a range of straightforward skin and minor procedural concerns directly, so a wart, a worrisome mole, or an ingrown toenail doesn't have to mean weeks of waiting just to get looked at.

Skin Biopsies

If you have a spot, mole, or growth that's changed in size, shape, or color, or simply looks different from everything else on your skin, it's worth having it properly evaluated rather than waiting on a long referral list. We perform shave and punch skin biopsies in the office, sending the tissue for formal pathology review, and we'll go over the results with you directly once they're back.

Benign Lesion Removal

Skin tags, certain cysts, and other benign growths can often be removed in a quick, straightforward office visit. If something is bothering you, whether it's catching on clothing or just something you'd rather not have, we can talk through whether removal makes sense and take care of it the same day in many cases.

Cryotherapy for Warts and Other Lesions

Warts, actinic keratoses, and certain other benign or precancerous spots can often be treated effectively with cryotherapy (freezing). It's a quick in-office treatment, sometimes needing more than one session depending on the lesion, and it avoids the wait and expense of a separate dermatology referral for something this routine.

Ingrown Toenails

An ingrown toenail is painful, common, and very treatable in a single office visit. We perform in-office treatment for ingrown toenails, including partial removal of the affected nail edge when needed, so you're not stuck managing ongoing pain and risk of infection while waiting for a podiatry appointment.

Earwax (Cerumen) Removal

Impacted earwax is uncomfortable, can affect your hearing, and is one of the simplest things we treat in the office. Rather than referring you elsewhere for something this routine, we perform safe in-office cerumen removal as part of a regular visit.

When Something Needs a Specialist

Not everything belongs in primary care, and we're upfront about that. If a biopsy result, a lesion's appearance, or the complexity of a procedure points toward something that genuinely needs a dermatologist or podiatrist's expertise, like a confirmed skin cancer requiring specialized excision, or a recurring, complicated ingrown toenail, we'll refer you promptly, with everything we've already found documented clearly so you're not starting over.

Sometimes the most efficient specialist is the one already in the room. Schedule a visit at TheMDClinic in Northville, MI — proudly serving Plymouth, Canton, and Livonia.
