What Virtual Visits Are Good For
Virtual visits work well for follow-up on a condition we're already managing, medication review and adjustment, discussing lab or test results, check-ins on chronic conditions like hypertension or diabetes between in-person visits, and quick questions that don't require an exam. If you're already an established patient and we have a clear picture of your health, a lot of ongoing care can happen this way.
What Still Needs an In-Person Visit
Virtual care isn't the right fit for everything, and we'll be upfront about that. Annual physicals, cancer screenings, and other preventive exams need to happen in person. New or undiagnosed symptoms that require a physical exam, like an unfamiliar pain, a new lump, or anything we need to actually see, hear, or touch to properly evaluate, also need an office visit. We'd rather tell you honestly when a video visit isn't enough than pretend it covers everything.
How It Works
Virtual visits are scheduled just like an in-person appointment. You'll get a link ahead of time to join a secure video visit from your phone, tablet, or computer, no special app or account required. If video isn't available or convenient for you, a phone visit is an option too. Have your medication list and any specific questions ready, the same way you would for an office visit.
